Infant & Toddler Assistant Teacher

Position Overview: Infant Teacher is responsible for providing a safe, nurturing, and stimulating atmosphere for infants aged 6 weeks to 36 months. The teacher will design and implement age-relevant activities that support physical, emotional, cognitive, and social development while maintaining strong communication with parents and team members.
- High School Diploma or equivalent; Associate’s degree in Early Childhood Education preferred.
- Minimum of 6 ECE units required; Infant/Toddler units preferred.
- Previous experience working with infants and toddlers in a childcare setting.
- Strong understanding of child development and Montessori philosophy (preferred but not required).
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
- Ability to pass a background check and meet licensing requirements.
- Must be able to provide references
- Must have fingerprinting, health screening and TB test
- Must be able to lift up to 30 lbs
- Assist the lead teacher in implementing age-appropriate Montessori activities and curriculum.
- Provide a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for infants and toddlers.
- Support children in developing independence, social skills, and emotional well-being.
- Engage with children through interactive play, storytelling, and sensory activities.
- Assist with diapering, feeding, and maintaining hygiene routines.
- Observe and document children’s progress and communicate with parents effectively.
- Ensure classroom cleanliness and organization in accordance with health and safety regulations.
- Participate in staff meetings, training, and professional development opportunities.
