Care of the Environment
Cleaning, organizing, and plant care to foster responsibility.
"Care of the Environment" activities in a Montessori preschool help children learn to take care of their surroundings. These activities foster responsibility, independence, and a sense of order, while also developing fine and gross motor skills.
Examples of "Care of the Environment" activities we do at GVM
- Dusting and Cleaning: Providing child-sized dusters, cloths, and spray bottles for children to clean shelves, tables, and windows.
- Sweeping : Setting up a cleaning area with child-sized brooms, dustpans.
- Plant Care: Having a watering can and a designated area for children to water and clean plant leaves.
- Organizing Materials: Encouraging children to return materials to their designated places and straighten shelves.
By integrating these activities into the daily routine, children learn to take pride in their environment and develop lifelong habits of cleanliness and order.
